Day 3 from Brenna!
Brenna and Kim (AR) on the bus
April 3, 2006
Today has been incredible. Lauren and I woke up at 5am to get ready for the orientation breakfast downstairs. The contestants were addressed by Roselie, the contestant manager, and Paula Shugart, the president of the Miss Universe Organization. Because Lauren and I had finished everything yesterday (registration, wardrobe fittings, photos, interviews) we had the rest of the day to relax!! I only ended up sleeping for about 45 minutes but had the best rest since my time in Baltimore. We haven’t been outside for a few days, as all of our activities are taking place in the host hotel. It was raining this morning and it’s still quite muggy outside.
We left for a night out (finally!!) of a movie, dinner, and bowling. The 51 girls were loaded up onto two charter buses and we were actually escorted by the Baltimore police the entire way there! We had motorcycle cops in front of, next to, and behind us. They even stopped traffic and busted through red lights so we could get to our destination with no hold-ups. The rest of the girls who were with me on Bus 1 were absolutely amazed. We felt like real celebrities! We saw a movie screening of Stick It, by the makers of Bring It On. After the movie, it started storming outside so instead of having us get back on the buses, the security guards walked us through the mall to Dave & Busters. It seemed as if every member of the mall security staff was there to guide our path and make sure that no one touched us! Of course, all of the shoppers were looking for Miss Maryland USA. We had a great dinner at Dave & Busters and the entire facility was closed off for our use! We then went bowling. We were organized by states. I bowled with AL, AK, AR, CA, CO, CT, and DE. We had SOO much fun! At 9:30 it was back to the Wyndham. Another 5am morning tomorrow! I miss everyone and I really enjoy reading your posts on my blog. I promise to do Arizona proud!

Well, you've already been blessed with beauty, so I'll just have to say bless you for taking and posting all these photos and comments for those of us and can't be in Baltimore to root for you in person. Have fun, get lots of rest/any rest you can, and I hope Baltimore and the pageant treat you very well!
